Note: This dataset will not be receiving updates through this portal. Please refer to the Public Health Scotland Open Data platform for the relevant data.

Numbers of new cases for the following types of cancer: malignant neoplasms (excluding non melanoma skin cancer), lung cancer (including cancers of the trachea and bronchus), malignant female breast tumours, colorectal cancers (constituting cancers of the colon, rectum and rectosigmoid junction), and malignant prostate tumours.

Note that some information may have been suppressed or adjusted to preserve patient confidentiality. Cancer registration is a dynamic process: the incidence data presented here may differ from other published data relating to the same time period. Source: Scottish Cancer Registry (SMR06). Time series comparisons are suitable, however cancer registrations may come to light many months or even years after diagnosis and the cancer registration database is continually being updated. The data presented here may therefore, particularly for recent years, differ slightly from other published data relating to the same time period.
