Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures for Scotland are produced by the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser (OCEA) in the Scottish Government.
Each industry sector is indexed to make them comparable. For each sector, the value during 2019 is taken as the base year, and given the value of 100. All indexed values are given relative to the base year.
This dataset does not contain any sensitive or personal information.

Figures used for comparing GDP performance between Scotland and the UK refer to GDP at basic prices, also known as Gross Value Added (GVA). UK figures are taken from the Office for National Statistics' (ONS) Quarterly National Accounts publication, and the headline CGCE series is used (which includes output from the North Sea oil and gas sector).
Information on Scottish GDP is available in commentary and tables published on the Scottish Government website.

The first estimate of the data are published on a quarterly basis, with each new quarter's data published every three months. The data are also updated with publication of the second estimate of GDP.
Revisions to previous data are published along with the latest quarter of data as part of the official release.
This slice of multidimensional data is not a Linked Data resource in the database: it's a virtual resource (i.e. you can't query it by SPARQL). But does have a permanent unique URL which can be bookmarked.
