Note that some information may have been suppressed or adjusted to preserve patient confidentiality. Cancer registration is a dynamic process: the incidence data presented here may differ from other published data relating to the same time period. Source: Scottish Cancer Registry (SMR06). Cancer registration is a dynamic process: the incidence data presented here may differ from other published data relating to the same time period, including that found on the ISD website, which is extracted separately from the data here. For further information see ISD's Cancer Website.
Time series comparisons are suitable, however cancer registrations may come to light many months or even years after diagnosis and the cancer registration database is continually being updated. The data presented here may therefore, particularly for recent years, differ slightly from other published data relating to the same time period. More detailed data are published on the Cancer pages of the ISD Website.
The data are used for variety of purposes which include: public health surveillance; health needs assessment, planning and commissioning cancer services; evaluation of the impact of interventions on incidence; clinical audit and health services research; epidemiological studies; and providing information to support genetic counselling and health promotion.
This slice of multidimensional data is not a Linked Data resource in the database: it's a virtual resource (i.e. you can't query it by SPARQL). But does have a permanent unique URL which can be bookmarked.
